About Jennifer
I am a North Carolina native and the daughter of two public school teachers. I worked for a decade in various social service agencies and observed the overwhelming need for mental health care in every setting. I decided to return to school and received my BSN and MSN degrees at UNC-Chapel Hill to become a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I have been in practice since 2010 and have been honored to share in the healing journeys of many people. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family, friends, reading, hiking, and mountain biking in the Western North Carolina mountains.
My approach to care is as your partner in creating better daily functioning and a “feeling of being at home in your own skin.” Together we will discuss what obstacles you are facing; what encompasses the “overwhelm” that is overflowing your bucket; what unhelpful patterns you would like to change; and what symptoms you are experiencing that medication may be beneficial in treating.
No decision is permanent, and you lead the way in determining what works for you.
“What lies before us and what lies behind us are small matters compared to what lies within us.”
